UberChic Plate 1-02 Review Featuring Different Dimension Cosmologically Speaking Part Two

Monday, August 10, 2015

Shortly after attending CosmoProf North America I placed an order with UberChic to pick up a handful of new nail plates. I had the pleasure of seeing them in person at Cocktails & Colors, and knew that they needed to join my collection.

The plates span a variety of themes and interests. There were far too many on my wishlist to pick up in one order, so I settled on collection one and collection four. I'm kicking myself for not picking up Africa-01 and Wild West-01. I honestly don't know what I was thinking.

I want to address a few unique things about UberChic plates in general. I'm going to make most of my comparisons to MoYou London because they are one of the few brands that offer a similar level of detail.

  • UberChic images are larger than MoYou London, which allows most people with average nail lengths and widths to use them. There's honestly nothing worse than getting new nail plates and realizing that you have to file down your nails substantially just to use them.
  • UberChic plates are etched in a way that cotton doesn't get stuck in the grooves when you clean them. This is a huge time advantage compared to MoYou London. My MoYou plates eat cotton like their life depends on it.
  • Price wise UberChic and MoYou have about the same image number to dollar ratio (it can vary depending on the strength of the pound vs US dollar).
  • UberChic offers collections that consist of three plates. When you average them out, it comes out to $8.33/plate. That means you get 33-35 images for that price vs MoYou at around 18 images for $7.74 (as of 8/6).
  • UberChic plates are intentionally made with a lot of opportunities to create stamping decals.
