Zoya Naked Manicure Rescue + Repair - Press sample

Today I have the Zoya Naked Manicure Rescue + Repair kit to share. The kit consists of tools to help strengthen and repair weak nails. While I don't tend to have nail issues at my current length, I still wanted to share this kit and my overall thoughts.

The kit comes with a nice carrying case and temporary slip cover detailing what's included in the Rescue + Repair kit.

I really like that this bag has plenty of room to make it your travel kit. You obviously can't fly with liquids inside, but it's great for road trips and overnight stays.

The kit comes with one 15mL bottle of the Gelie-cure Rescue Serum, one 15mL bottle of the Gelie-cure Repair Base Coat, an orange stick, and an emery board. Start with the orange stick to push back cuticles then use the emery board to file in one direction as a slightly downward angle to seal the nails. Once your prep is complete you continue on to the Gelie-cure Rescue Serum.

The Gelie-cure Rescue Serum has a easy, straightforward application. To use you apply a pea sized amount to one fingertip and use half that amount for each hand. Distribute evenly among fingernails and massage until absorbed. Do not wash off.

I wanted to dig into the ingredients a bit more since we often have no idea what job each ingredient does. For an analysis I plugged it into CosDNA. You can see the analysis here. To sum it up, you are looking at a handful of conditioners, moisturizers, a few solvents (for absorption) and a preservative. If you are at all concerned about any of the ingredients the website I linked above gives you an idea of how much of an irritant each ingredient may be as well as the safety rating. Overall this is relatively safe to use. I really couldn't tell you how much of a difference it makes in terms of nail health, but I will said that damaged nails often lack moisture, so this couldn't hurt. *As always please take everything with a grain of salt. This is not medical advice.

The Zoya Gelie-cure Repair Base is to be used right after the Repair Serum in order to seal in the good moisturizing ingredients while preventing water from doing additional damage to the nail bed. The Repair Base also acts as a ridge filler, and smooths out flaking nails visibly to create an even base under any manicure. The "Gelie" part of the name is a bit of a misnomer as you don't need a gel system to use these products.

The Zoya Naked Manicure Rescue + Repair kit is currently available on their website. The full set retails for $39. I believe that the $39 kit pricing is a special introduction price, so it may not stay that way. You can purchase the Zoya Geli-cure Repair Serum alone for $30, and the Zoya Geli-cure Repair Base for $24.
