Update: I spoke with Esther of Philly Loves Lacquer about the quality control issues I had mentioned in these posts. I agreed to update my posts to state that Esther reassured me that her products would arrive without pigment chunks. Esther told me that she would send out replacement polish that had not been rushed out. I received that update on November 26th, 2014.

As of December 14th, 2014 I had not received replacement bottles. With the craziness of the season I assumed it had been due to USPS package issues. I contacted Esther to make sure I hadn't missed the package, and was informed that she was so busy from her Thanksgiving sales that she forgot about it. I was then promised that it would be sent out that week. Today is January 1st, 2015, and I have not received any further correspondence from Esther or Philly Loves Lacquer. I am personally a bit wary of ordering anything from her in the future.

I've never been one to purchase topical over-the-counter pain relief, so when I was contacted by Zim's to try out their Max-Freeze product, I was all ears.

I just recently started lifting heavy again, and was experiencing lower back pain due to deadlifting. It was definitely DOMS and not an injury, so I decided to give Zim's Max-Freeze a try. To give you an idea of how painful it was, I took my usual rest day on Wednesday and proceeded to skip my normal workouts on Thursday and Friday. It was the kind of sore that makes it hard to roll over in bed.

The package instructs you to not use the product with a heat source, so I skipped the heating pad and hit the mat for a good stretch. Within two days of using Zim's Max-Freeze in conjunction with stretching I felt significantly better.

Zim's has significantly changed my perception of topical pain relief. I won't use it every time I have a minor ache or pain, but I will keep it around for the big stuff.

As most of you might know, I have a serious love affair with Zoya. It started as a flirtation as I broke away from many of my favorite mainstream brands. Now it's a full fledged affair with no end in sight. As soon as I started to see swatches of Yuna, I knew it had to be mine. I have been drooling over both the Entice and Ignite collections since they were announced, and hope to add the rest of the colors to my personal collection.

There are just a few thing in the polish world that I am a sucker for. White crellies with interesting glitter are one of those things. When I saw The Polish Bar- Shiny Pebbles in a friend's blog sale I knew I had to have it. I'm not usually a fan of orange glitter, but there was something earthy and retro about the color that drew me in. Think of the most fashionable living room in the 1970's, and you will see exactly what I mean.

Last week I got a package of polishes from Pretty & Polished. They were a mixture of two upcoming collections, and I was ecstatic to see which ones I would be swatching and reviewing. It was practically kismet that I received two flakies from The Opal Collection.

You made it to Friday! I don't know about you guys, but this week has moved so slowly. Today I have a review of Revlon Moon Candy in Satellite. I've had really mixed feelings about all of the Moon Candy combos, and this one isn't any different.



The formula of the creme itself was ok, though I found it to be exceptionally runny. You really have to wipe off almost all of the product to keep it from flooding your cuticles. As you can see in the photos, despite my best effort I still ended up with cuticle staining.

I'm apparently on a flakie kick! I did these back when I had crazy long nails. It's hard to believe I ever kept them that long.
