Maxus Nails Empower Collection
Thursday, August 17, 2017Maxus Nails Empower Collection - Press sample
Have you ever seen a brand that just wowed you from the beginning? When I opened up my Maxus Nails box I was greeted with a perfectly branded and assembled package. Logos don't really make or break a brand for me, but there was something about Maxus that really stood out. The logo itself feels powerful and strong.
After digging into the website a bit I discovered this post about Dasha and why she started Maxus. It's no surprise that this brand was meant to be a symbol of strength and empowerment. I really felt that from the moment I set eyes on the branding.
I also love, love, love this note! I'm not a huge quote person as they generally feel tacky and misused, but this was perfect.
Adored
Formula: Nice consistency
Finish: Nude creme
Coverage: 2 coats
Price: $18
Notes: Maxus Adored is a cool toned creamy nude. Nudes can be hit or miss because they either look great or awful. There's rarely any middle ground. I think that Adored is lovely and would look wonderful with all skin tones.
Inspired
Formula: Nice consistency
Finish: Bright red creme
Coverage: 2 coats
Price: $18
Notes: Maxus Inspired is a bright red creme that really packs a punch. It has a more jelly-like formula which makes application a breeze.
Admired
Formula: Nice consistency
Finish: Oxblood red creme
Coverage: 3 coats
Price: $18
Notes: Maxus Admired is super lush.
Respected
Formula: Nice consistency
Finish: Deep red creme
Coverage: 2 coats
Price: $18
Notes: Maxus Respected is my favorite shade of the four because it's super vampy. I felt like a total boss wearing this shade. Who doesn't love that?!
Maxus Base Coat & Top Coat
All of my manis used the Maxus Base Coat and Maxus Top Coat. I'm not a good person for testing base and top coats because I'm ridiculously hard on my nails. While wearing Maxus Respected I gardened, did dishes, and hit the gym for squats and deadlifts. At the gym I actually managed to split my thumb nail apart into layers along the tip =/. It's safe to say that mani didn't stand up to my level of abuse, but I wouldn't expect it to. I believe it would have been just fine if I hadn't had that accident at the gym.
I wanted to create a classy, business appropriate look using some of the Maxus shades I reviewed. This look uses Maxus Adored, Admired, and Respected. I think they make a lovely combo.
