Baroness X & Fox Fire Wax Sol Cheirosa '62 Scent Comparison - Press sample

Sol Cheirosa '62 is a wildly popular scent right now, so I wanted to do a comparison post to see how different dupes match up to the original. Baroness X was kind enough to send over some of the original Sol Cheirosa '62 Bum Bum Cream for a direct comparison.

This original scent is described as:

Top notes are Pistachio and Almond; middle notes are Heliotrope and Jasmine; base notes are Caramel, Vanilla, Salt and Sandalwood.

As a non-perfumer I would describe this as a warm scent. It's equally balanced between gourmand notes and floral with sandalwood mellowing out the overall blend.

Baroness X New Moon Cuticle Oil - Sol Cheirosa '62

Comparing the Sol Cheirosa '62 scented New Moon Cuticle Oil to the original Sol Cheirosa '62 cream it smells identical. When scenting some items the scent may change slightly due to whatever the carrier item is, but I didn't find this to be the case with the cuticle oil. If you want something that smells identical to the original, this is it! This scent lingers after the oil has soaked in and even after your first handwashing. It's pleasant and not overpowering.

Fox Fire Wax - Sol Cheirosa '62

The Fox Fire Sol Cheirosa '62 wax melt is slightly different from the original Sol Cheirosa '62 cream but not in a bad way. This is the exact same fragrance oil as what is used to scent the New Moon Cuticle Oil. I'm not sure if the wax slightly changes the scent, or the fact that you melt the wax but I find this to be a little stronger on the gourmand parts of the scent and a little lighter on the floral aspects. The scent itself is still recognizable as Sol Cheirosa '62 but I suspect that warming the scent is what slightly changes how it smells. The wax itself has a nice throw that fills my house without being too strong.

If you are looking for a dead ringer for Sol Cheirosa '62 I'd pick up the cuticle oil. If you really enjoy the scent and other scents like it I would recommend both the wax and the cuticle oil. I'm personally enjoying both!
