Yume Lacquer Moonlight Defender Collection

Monday, September 29, 2014

I hope you are all having a great start to your week! I know Monday can be kind of rough. Today I have a couple lovely colors from Yume Lacquer's Moonlight Defender collection to share with you. The collection was inspired by Sailor Moon. I typically do straight swatches, but I decided to have a little fun with the colors Amanda sent over.

I decided to go with a "skittle" style mani featuring Silent Ruin on the index and pinkie finger, Pink Lady on the middle finger, and Time Distortion on the ring finger.

Silent Ruin is made up of different shades of purple pigment and micro glitter. It has a really subtle purple shift at the right angle. The formula was a nice consistency, and only required two coats for full coverage. It dries with a really nice satin finish, so a top coat is not required unless you want to extend the wear time.

Pink Lady is a pink simmer jam packed with various sizes of iridescent glitter. The formula was a bit thick, but not unmanageable. I used two coats in the swatches. It does have a bit of a texture, so if that bothers you, a thicker topcoat like Poshe or Seche Vite would do the trick.

Time Distortion is a light purple metallic that has a light iridescence. The formula was a great consistency and required three coats for full coverage.

Overall, I loved the three colors I was sent to review. I am going to play with these over the next few weeks to create a few different looks. I have a feeling that Silent Ruin and Time Distortion will work well for stamping.
