Finger Lickin' Lacquer Spring In Your Step Collection

Wednesday, March 18, 2015

It sure feels like spring around here thanks to the unseasonably warm, sunny days we've had. Today I have a lovely new collection to share with you from Finger Lickin' Lacquer. The Spring In Your Step collection consists of five spring themed colors plus one color to celebrate Finger Lickin' Lacquer turning one!

Eat Me

Eat Me is a warm cocoa crelly featuring pink and blue glitter, and a sweet chocolate scent. I found that two coats gave full coverage without being too thick. The scent is pleasant and sweet without being overwhelming.

Lilac Festival

Lilac Festival is a violet holo with tiny yellow flakies. It's a bit subtle in my swatches, but the flakies are a lovely touch. The formula built up to full coverage with three thin coats.

Peachy Keen

Peachy Keen is a fruity coral holo with golden flakies. This one smells wonderful like a sweet peach. The formula was a nice consistency that reached full coverage with three thin coats.

Quite Contrary

Quite Contrary is a cream colored polish with a hint of green topped off with subtle pink flakies. My swatches hardly do this color justice. The flakies are lovely in person, and not quite as subtle as the photos would have you believe. The formula is a nice consistency that builds up to full coverage with three coats.

Birthday Suit

Birthday Suit is a nude crelly with pastel confetti. It's scented with the sweet smell of birthday cake. This color was created in celebration of Finger Lickin' Lacquer turning one! The formula was a nice consistency, but it is a bit sheer. My swatches show three coats with no base color.

She Works Hard For the Honey is a glitter topper featuring yellow and black glitters. From the Finger Lickin' Lacquer press release: "You better BEElieve this black and gold glitter topper will HIVE you all aBUZZ with its superFLY look and delicious honeyed fragrance!" I had to share all the bee puns with you! I swatched this over Lilac Festival, Quite Contrary, and Peachy Keen. Each photo shows one coat with no extra glitter manipulation. The formula was a nice consistency, but I found that the larger black circles drifted toward the middle a bit. I recommend flipping the bottle upside down before wearing it.

In addition to the Spring In Your Step collection, Jen sent over a grass scented cuticle oil. I've always been a fan of her formula and packaging, so let's talk a little about the scent. The best way I could describe it is fresh cut (dry) grass. The scent isn't overwhelming, but you can definitely tell what it is. I personally don't care for the scent, but I've never been a fan of how grass smells. What I do know, is that those of you who love the smell of fresh cut grass will go crazy over this one!

The Spring In Your Step collection will be available in Finger Lickin' Lacquer's new shop on Friday, March 20th.
