Firecracker Lacquer Everyone I Love Is Dead Pt 1
Monday, March 30, 2015This is probably the most excited I've been for a collection in a while. I love polish, so it's not hard to please me, but it's rare for me to obsess over something as much as I did over this collection. Kendahl of Firecracker Lacquer hinted that there would be a collection inspired by something many of us love. Here's what the press release says:
"Firecracker Lacquer will launch the Everyone I Love Is Dead collection, based around a fictitious story created by head mixologist, Kendahl. Did everyone you love die? Were they killed off by a villianous narrative? Then this collection is for you. Any similarities to other works of art are entirely (possibly) coincidental."All descriptions are directly from the press release. I've added additional notes after the initial description. Each polish shows one photo in the light box, and one outside in the shade with the exception of Marriage Marred by Murder, which shows an additional photo in the sun.
Poison Fit For a King
"Poison Fit for a King is a gorgeous blurple linear holo. Because let's face it, when you are going to poison a king, as corrupt and awful as he may be, it had better be with some really magnificent poison."
The formula was fairly opaque with one coat. You might be able to make this a one-coater if you like to apply heavier coats. I found that two thin coats was perfect. This polish is so glorious because it represents the gruesome death of my most hated fictional character.
Titties & Dragons
"Titties & Dragons is a gray creme polish with glitters in gold, purple, and black. If one day you wake up and cannot overcome the urge to plunge yourself into a fire, make sure you wear this polish. You never know; you might come out of the fire naked with baby dragons!"
The formula was a nice consistency that reached full coverage with two coats. I love gray polish, but this color is so perfect for the person it represents. I anticipate this being a fan favorite just like the character.
Marriage Marred by Murder
"Marriage Marred by Murder is a red jelly with black, charcoal, and silver glitters, plus dark green shards mixed throughout. How would you feel if on your wedding night, the entire wedding party was slain while you retired to the bedroom? That's not my version of a happy ending."
This jelly is incredibly squishy while maintaining decent coverage. With two coats there is no visible nail line. The formula was easy to work with and could be described as my ideal jelly thanks to the coverage it provides.
How to Kill a Mountain
"How to Kill a Mountain is a sand-colored creme with blood red glitters in varying sizes. This polish might possibly protect you from getting your eyes poked out. (This is not a guarantee, please do not intentionally seek to get your eyes poked out.)"
Such a creamy color might fool you into thinking this was a polish made to represent something soft and happy. This has a great formula that reaches full coverage with three coats.
