Good morning Potterheads! I hope you guys are ready for a tour of the houses today. Please know that it's totally ok if you love a polish that doesn't belong to your house. You can certainly wear the polish, but know that you may get docked points if you show up at a Quidditch match wearing another teams colors. With that, let's dive in!
Accidental Horcrux- Firecracker Lacquer
Formula: Nice consistency. Glitter sinks, but it can be easily fished out with the brush.
Finish: A bright yellow crelly filled with lightning bolts in black and holo silver, and bright blue sparkle.
Coverage: 3 coats
Notes: As I mentioned, you do have to fish for lightning bolts, but the overall polish has a nice formula. The shifty blue shimmer really makes this polish for me.
Seeds of Greatness- Bohemian Polish
Formula: Nice consistency overall. I did find a couple of pigment chunks, but Jen assures me they will not be in the final formula.
Finish: Slytherin green holo
Coverage: 2 coats
Notes: I may not root for team Slytherin, but I do adore this holo!
Crumple-Horned Snorkack- Ellison's Organics
Formula: Nice consistency
Finish: Glitter topper with chameleon glitter, holo stars and hex, blue/green squares, and silver lightning bolts
Coverage: 1 coat over Sinful Shine Steel Reserve
Notes: I will admit that I was a bit intimidated by this shade in the bottle. I was quite surprised and delighted when I swatched it over gray. That'll teach me to judge a polish by the bottle!
Avada Kedarva- Black Lace Cosmetics
Formula: Nice consistency
Finish: Blackened teal jelly holo
Coverage: 3 coats
Notes: This can lean more on the green side depending on your lighting.
Brave at Heart- Sassy Pants Polish
Formula: A little thick, but manageable
Finish: Scarlet red shimmer with gold holographic micro glitter and gold flakies
Coverage: 2 coats
Notes: Polish with a lot of glitter and shimmer can be on the thick side while still being manageable. I would double top coat this in the future because of the larger gold flakies.
