Baroness X New Products + Violet Owls | 31dc2018 Challenge - Press sample

Hi there! I'm still working through the #31dc2018 challenge but first I wanted to share some new Baroness X items with you all! Over the last few months she's been releasing a ton of wonderful new nail, wax, and body products. I have a large assortment of new things to share with you today, so I hope you all are ready.

Fixer Elixir

cuticle cream

Baroness X Fixer Elixir is a light cuticle cream formulated to aid in cuticle care. These are available in two sizes (1.45oz and 2.45oz) and can be purchased scented or unscented. Prices range between $6-$12 depending on the size and scent chosen.

Desert Ghost Flower is kind of earthy/kind of floral. It's a happy mix between the two. I could see it being a nice perfume or bath product scent. The scent is reasonably strong and will linger after a few hand washings.

Carnival is a bit lighter than the previous scent but is still quite fragrant. This smells like everything wonderful you can eat at the fair. It's kind of like caramel corn and cotton candy spun into one scent. I doesn't sound as good as it smells, but I found it to be delightful.

The Fixer Elixir comes in a double walled jar sealed with a pull tab topper for freshness. This means that your lid won't be packed with product when it arrives (this is a big deal imo).

While this product has a light consistency don't be fooled! A little goes a long way. I usually use a dime sized amount and it's more than enough to get all of my cuticles and sidewalls. The best part? This soaks in quickly and does not leave a greasy residue.

Top ingredients include: Aloe Vera Juice, Rosehip Seed Oil, Kelp Extract, Neem Extract, Lanolin, Vegatable Glycerin, Rosemary Extract, and Allatoin.

Dry Oil

Dry Oil is one of those products I never knew existed until I tried the Baroness X version and then did a little research. Let me tell you, this is my new favorite moisturizer for when I need quick hydration. The dry oil absorbs quickly and delivers the same amount of hydration as your average lotion.

So why opt for dry oil over lotion? I personally like how light it is after applying. I am able to use this and then immediately put on leggings to leave the house. If I use lotion I usually have to wait a good 10-15 minutes before I can get leggings to clear the "resistance" that lotion creates.

My oil scent choice was Endless Weekend (BBW dupe). It smells just like the original scent and it's wonderful for summer!

Baroness X Dry Oil currently retails for $4.00 for a 2oz bottle.

Break-Away Ice Bar Wax

ripe fig & cedar wax melts

Notes: Between the two fig scents I'm more fond of Black Fig & Cedar Sachets. This has a lighter more fig based scent while the scent shot of Black Fig is more cedar based. Both are nice but I definitely have a preference between the two.

Riveted Base Coat & Liquid Crystal Top Coat

sticky nail polish base coat

Baroness X just launched her Riveted Base Coat and Liquid Crystal Top Coat. The base coat is a color correcting sticky base coat. I found that my wear time was slightly better with this base coat versus a non-sticky base. This is my preferred alternative to Orly Bonder. I was a huge Bonder fan but this one takes the cake.

The Liquid Crystal Top Coat is thin and ultra glossy as you can see from my photos. It's much thinner than your typical quick dry top coat which makes it great for magnetic nail polish. It was ok for stamped nail art but I wasn't able to float the coat as easily so I will save this for other (non-stamped) nail art looks.

One thing I really like about the Liquid Crystal Top Coat is that I experienced zero pulling/tip wear.
