Monday, July 07, 2014

The 90's was a totally awesome decade filled with only the best things. From jelly shoes to Dunkaroos, Finger Lickin' Lacquer has it covered with her Totally Rad collection. Totally Rad consists of ten shades inspired by everything 90's. I'm going to break this up into three parts so that you don't have to wait forever for the page to load. Part two will be posted the same time tomorrow.

Press Start is a grey crelly with red hex glitter and various sizes and shapes of black glitter. This was inspired by Nintendo. I know I spent a lot of time playing when I wasn't blowing dust out of my cartridges. The formula was a tad sheer and thin, but it seemed to help with the glitter application. Pictured above is four coats with no base color.

You've Got Mail is a nude shimmer with white and blue triangles and dots. You can't have the 90's without some good ole AOL. Pictured above is three coats with no base color. This was my first time encountering triangle glitter, so I wasn't sure how well it would come out of the bottle. The formula was just thick enough that I was able to get a ton of triangles on the brush with no effort.

Away Message

Away Message is a bright yellow jelly with various sizes of silver and blue glitter. The formula on this was perfect, not too thick or thin. Pictured above is three coats with no base color. This color is limited edition, so if you like it you need to pick it up asap! I'm going to be honest and tell you that I  didn't think I was going to like this color. Yellows and I don't get along very well. Once I had it on my nails I fell in love! I'm not sure what exactly changed my mind, but the blue, silver and yellow combo really works well together.

Mix Tape

Mix Tape is a glitter topper consisting of pink and blue squares, and yellow circle glitter. The inspiriation came from the super colorful Memorex cassette tapes. Pictured above is one coat of Mix Tape over Hunter's Helper. The formula suspends glitter well without being too thick. One quick dip of the brush brought up at least one circle glitter and a bunch of blue and pink squares.

  1. While I could do without a lot of the 90's coming back, I am super glad bright colors are a thing again!

  2. I am such a fool for yellow jelly, so Away Message is totally doing it for me. And those little green squares, mmmm.....
The circles in Mix Tape make me think of pineapple rings. And now I'm craving either a ham & pineapple pizza or a Pina Colada. It looks fantastic over that grey base!
