At Cosmoprof this year I had the opportunity to view the brand new Orly Breathable line. The line is a combination of treatment and color all in the same bottle. Each color contains argan oil, pro-vitamin B5, and vitamin C for a breathable, long lasting mani. These are supposed to be worn without a base or top coat.
I swatched three colors from the Orly Breathable line, and did a full test wear to give you an idea of just how durable these shades are.
Nourishing Nude
Formula: Nice consistency
Finish: Nude creme
Coverage: 2 coats
Notes: This shade is a bit sheer for what I normally like, but I am surprisingly ok with that. After years of searching for the perfect nude, I think I've finally found the one for me.
Love My Nails
Formula: Nice consistency
Finish: Red creme
Coverage: 2 coats
Notes: This is the perfect red creme. It's opaque, bright, and only requires two coats.
Nail Superfood
Formula: Nice consistency
Finish: Pink creme
Coverage: 2 coats
Notes: This shade was my favorite of the three, so I decided to give it a full wear test. I wore this shade for a week, and only chipped a small portion of one nail on the seventh day. I'm not at all gentle with my hands or nails, so I was quite surprised that this shade lasted as long as it did.
MoYou London Asia 09
On the final day of my wear test, I added some nail art. Yes, the nails you are looking at are sporting a seven day old mani. I wasn't lying when I said I was impressed with the wear time. The stamped portion is Orly Ingenue and two different images from MoYou London Asia 09. When the stamping dried I added dots to the middle of the flowers using Orly Space Cadet.
To create this look you will need:
- MoYou London- Asia 09
- Orly- Nail Superfood, Ingenue, Space Cadet
- Clear jelly stamper
- Dotting tool
I had a significant amount of doubt going into this product test, but I was quite surprised with the outcome. I thought that the Orly Breathable line would chip easily without a base or top coat, but I was happy to be proven wrong. Orly has earned an A+ for the Breathable line.
