Zoya Element Collection | Fall 2018
Monday, August 27, 2018Zoya Element Collection | Fall 2018 - Press sample
I hope you all had a wonderful weekend! I'm back with the full Zoya Element Collection. This is a brand new 12 piece collection for Fall 2018. I used to split these collections into two posts, but I've decided to start sharing collections in a single post. The idea is to trade quantity for quality. You will be seeing fewer posts from me (on average 2-3 per week) but the content will be more thorough. This should allow me to offer more nail art looks with the polish or collection being featured.
Rumor
Formula: Nice consistency
Finish: Mauve taupe with shimmer
Coverage: 2 coats
Price: $10
Notes: I tried my best to get a smooth finish with Rumor but lines are still apparent with the final coat. I think you could likely sponge on the final coat for a flawless (line-free finish)
Devin
Formula: Nice consistency
Finish: Steel blue with multicolored shimmer and foil finish
Coverage: 2 coats
Price: $10
Notes: Devin is such an unusual color. I really enjoyed the tone and finish of this shade. I have a feeling it will get a lot of wear this autumn.
Jenna
Formula: Nice consistency
Finish: Dusty rose pink creme with blue undertones
Coverage: 1 coat
Price: $10
Notes: Jenna is such a peppy creme. Despite the blue undertones this one made my skin pull more red than usual. It might look best on darker skintones.
Ruthie
Formula: Nice consistency
Finish: Raspberry rose creme
Coverage: 2 coats
Price: $10
Notes: I was quite smitten with Ruthie. It's such a lovely raspberry shade that made me feel sophisticated. It's a great "safe" shade without being boring.
Maryann
Formula: Nice consistency
Finish: Pink-toned rose with soft shimmer
Coverage: 2 coats
Price: $10
Notes: Maryann was a surprise love of mine. I wasn't sure about the finish in the bottle but I found that it applied reasonable well. Lines can be minimized with careful brush strokes.
Kendra
Formula: Nice consistency
Finish: Marsala creme
Coverage: 2 coats
Price: $10
Notes: Kendra is officially my go-to shade for autumn. I can't get enough of this rich, marsala creme!
Maeve
Formula: Nice consistency
Finish: Concord grape creme
Coverage: 1 coat
Price: $10
Notes: I was absolutely delight to see Maeve in this collection. It's a nice, punchy purple that breaks up the sea of pinks.
Donnie
Formula: Nice consistency
Finish: Purple-toned sangria creme
Coverage: 2 coats
Price: $10
Notes: Donnie was another surprise favorite in this collection. I wasn't sure how this was going to look once applied, but I found it to be wonderfully vibrant.
Alyssa
Formula: Nice consistency
Finish: Cranberry creme
Coverage: 2 coats
Price: $10
Notes: Alissa is a classic deep red creme. The website description calls this a red leaning purple but I didn't find it to be purple at all. I also experienced a bit of staining when removing Alissa.
Rachael
Formula: Nice consistency
Finish: Mulberry creme
Coverage: 2 coats
Price: $10
Notes: If you don't currently have a mulberry shade in your collection I quite loved Rachel. It's perfectly balanced between red and purple. This is a must-have creme for autumn.
Leighton
Formula: Nice consistency
Finish: Blackened aubergine creme
Coverage: 2 coats
Price: $10
Notes: Like any good autumn collection you must have an eggplant shade! Leighton fits the bill perfectly.
Gardner
Formula: Nice consistency
Finish: Deep periwinkle with vibrant magenta shimmer and a foil finish
Coverage: 2 coats
Price: $10
Notes: I'm still not entirely sure how I feel about Gardener. It applied perfectly but I'm not wile about foil finishes. Between Gardener and Devin I'm definitely more of a Devin fan.
Pin this for later!
